Playing catch up!

I know it has been a while since I posted last. Sad that my last post said the same thing, but I will be better about that now that the wedding planning has come to end! I am officially Rebekah Page, I know I have been for over a month now, but hey I have been super busy. Nina and Travis have already given me my pictures and cant wait to share them with you. I am still trying to figure out which ones I am going to post, since my photographers were so amazing and gave me 681 photos to choose from! Until then here is a recipe I tried recently. Thank you Joyful Mommas Kitchen for this delicious dinner! I improvised a little on this and it turned out AMAZING!

Ingredients:
10 tortillas ( I used HEB fresh homemade tortillas)
2 cups of cooked shredded white chicken ( I used one of those rotisserie store bought chickens)
2 cups of shredded Monterey Jack cheese
3 Tbsp. of butter
3 Tbsp. of all purpose flour
2 cups of chicken broth
1 cups of sour cream
1 can (4oz) of green chillies

Steps:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x13 pan
2. Mix shredded chicken and one cup of shredded cheese. Place a small hand full of mixture into each tortilla and place in pan.
3. In a sauce pan, melt butter, then stir in flour and cook for one minute. Add broth and whisk until smooth. Heat over medium heat and until it is think and bubbly.
4. Remove from heat and stir in sour cream, and chillies.
5. Pour sauce over enchiladas and top with the remaining cup of cheese.
6. Bake for 22 minutes, then set to broil for 3 minutes, or until cheese is brown. (only took my oven 2 minutes)

Stayed tuned for my wedding photos real soon! Also try the recipe I promise you will not be disappointed!!!!

Long Time No Post!

Alright so I know that it has been FOREVER since I posted last but with a recent promotion at work, and all of the wedding planning, I have am surprised I have time to sleep! With my wedding only being 47 days away, I figure that our engagement photos should have defiantly already been on here. Sorry Nina and Travis Tank for not already doing this. You know I love you :-)

Our photographers are family friends of mine. I have known Nina Tank, since I was in middle school. Her and her husband Travis are amazing photographers, and when I got engaged last November it was a NO BRAINER as to who would be taking the pictures for us. Since Alex already knew them, it made it a little easier because he was a little less shy ( only a little though )

Here are some of my favorites!

Handmade by Rebekah Page

As you may already know, from my information section of this blog, I really enjoy crafting! And yes I am using my soon to be married name, as part of my post... I think it sounds better!

With that being said I  have been looking at one of my favorite websites (Etsy) a lot lately, and I found a few DIY crafts that I wanted to try. I have been obsessed with the wedding section since all my planning started, and have found SO many cute ideas! One being a set of photo booth props, and another being tissue paper pom poms.

Now I will say that for the tissue paper pom poms, I did seek a little help from good ole Martha Stewart. I get her monthly magazines and remember seeing these in one of them. I did a step by step photo shoot of how EASY it really is. Now don't make fun of my chubby tiny hands!

Materials:

8 20x30 sheets of tissue paper
floral wire (about 4 inches)
monofiliment ( how ever long needed to get the pom pom to hang in desired location)

Step one: After stacking all 8 sheets of tissue paper, make 1- 1/12 accordion folds, creasing after each fold.

Step two: Place floral wire in the center of folded tissue paper, and twist.

Step Three :Twist and tie monofiliment around center of tissue paper ( so that when you start to fluff what is used to hand the pom pom is already in place)

Step Four: Cut edges. Either rounded or pointy. Each will give you a different look. I tried to do rounded but it is kind of a mixture between the two :-)

Step Five: Carefully pull each layer out separately towards the center of pom pom ( where the wire is) to get this!

Second Project was my photo booth props. Now don't worry this is a step by step process. It quite simple, all you have to do is draw shapes of glass, mustaches, lips, hats ect. cut them out, and hot glue a wooden stick onto them.

Materials:

Decorative Card stock
Scissors
12inch wooden sticks
Hot glue gun, and glue
Here are my props. It took me a long time to actually make them ( because I am such a perfectionist) so I am super proud!

And here is Alex and I modeling what they will look like in use!

Since I love crafting, please share some crafting ideas you have done, so I can try them too!

Well until the next handmade by Rebekah Page!

All about this Page!

For my very first post I thought I would give everyone a run down on where I am currently in my life, and who I share it with. It's a little long, but I thought this would help you in the future as a reader as to who, and what I am blabbing about all the time.

I am a bride to be and will be marrying the man of my dreams this December. He is my very best friend, and makes me the person I want to be. This striking man below is my fiance Alexander (or Alex).

We call this his "cheese face" Can you see why? So his smile looks a little forced sometimes, I just love it!

I have the most wonderful family. I love both of my parents dearly, and appreciate everything they have ever done for me, and will do for me in the future. With two older sisters they had they hands full with some sassy, strong willed girls! My oldest sister Jennifer and her husband Will, are an amazing team together, and love some of the lessons I have learned and will learn from them. They also have the most adorable kids! Brinley, Logan and Austin melt my heart every time I talk to, or see them. Sorry Jenn and Will but with kids that cute, they tend to steal the show :-) My middle sister Elizabeth and her husband Sam, live only minutes away from me, and probably wish I would stop coming over! These two crack me up on a daily basis. They were so meant for each other that it is crazy! They don't have children (YET) but they do have a dachshund named Winston, who is called Nephdog, in our family.

On the other side I cant wait to marry into the Page family! My soon to be in-laws are such generous, and loving people to let this talkative, OCD girl into their home and hearts with open arms. Alex's sister Kaitlyn, who I have become close with over the past couple of years, is getting married 62 days before us, so his parents and family will have a VERY busy fall!

What does Rebekah do, you may ask? I am currently working for a property management team in Austin as a leasing professional (and yes we say Professional, to sound fancy), and going to school to, one day become a nurse. My education is in the "become" a nurse stage because I am slowly but surly working my way to applying to a nursing program. I will get there one day!

Why "For This Page" as my blog URL and header? Well as you can tell from the beginning of my post, my new last name will be Page. I love my the name, and thought for a long time on how I could include it into a creative blog name. I figured when I am posting on this blog, I would be posting about what is going on in my life and or random interest and hobby's I enjoy. So in theory, I would be letting you know what's new "For This Page" family member. Kind of like a news anchors, signature sign off. Corny? Maybe! But hey I liked it :-)

Blogging is new for me... Obviously, so for now that's all for this page!
